This is a very short visit to Krakow on my way to Slovakia. Arrived in Krakow late night on Wednesday 1st March. Public transport was not avaialble at that time , so I asked the hotel to arrange a pick up. I stayed in Globtroter guest house. The stuff was very nice and waited for me to arrive.

Next morning I roamed around Krakow.

Rynek Glowny, the largest medieval market square in Europe, dazzles with its medieval, Renaissance and baroque architecture. When warm weather heralds the arrival of cafรฉ tables in the square, itโ€™s tempting to spend hours there taking in the ambience and watching horse-drawn carriages clatter on the cobbles. Itโ€™s not surprising thatย Krakowโ€™s Christmas market pitches up here too, as the squareโ€™s fairytale setting suits the festive season. Every hour on the hour, listen as a lone trumpeter in one of the towers in St Maryโ€™s Basilica plays the bugle call four times .

Among other places to explore was Wawel Royal castle , St Mary’s Basilica and Town Hall Tower. Later in the afternoon I left for the train station to catch the train to Airport. From Airport I would take the the transport for the next leg of the trip to Slovakia
