Ushuaia is the southernmost city of the world. It’s a small but beautiful city surrounded by high peaks of Patagonia. For me Ushuaia was gateway to Antarctica , so I did not spend enough time otherwise I would like to. I arrived Ushuaia morning of Jan 9th. I spent the whole day walking in Tierra Del Fuego national park. Only spare time I had was the morning of 10th to explore Ushuaia .

My ship was to depart in the afternoon so few hours I had , I used to visit Maritime museum and old prison.ย This museum makes excellent use of the original prison from the early 1900’s. Ushuaia’s modern history really begins as a penal colony settled to maintain Argentina’s claim on the territory. Since the prison was closed, the Territory turned it into a multi-faceted museum with exhibits from polar exploration, naval history, natural history and contemporary artwork.

I left for port at 3 PM and my ship departed on time. I returned from Antarctica on 21st Jan at 8 AM. My flight was booked in the evening. I did a bit of walking around and for lunch I tried King crab mean.
