Ajanta , Ellora & Elphanta Caves en-route to Mumbai – Elphanta & Mumbai

🇮🇳 🇮🇳 🇮🇳   From Aurangabad I boarded an early morning Jana Shatabdi Express to Mumbai. I reached my hotel near marine drive early afternoon. I had two days in Mumbai before I catch my flight to London. There was nostalgia associated with this city, my first job was here , I lived here almost 4 years before I moved to Bangalore. First day I roamed around city , went to Haji Ali shrine, enjoyed vada-pao and took some much needed rest. Day 2, I started early from my hotel to catch ferry to Elephanta islands.…

Ajanta , Ellora & Elphanta Caves en-route to Mumbai – Ajanta

🇮🇳 🇮🇳 🇮🇳   On my way to Mumbai, I decided to spend few days in Ajanta and Ellora. From Kolkata I took Gitanjali Express to Jalgaon. Ajanta caves are approximately 63 Km from Jalgaon. There are over 30 caves which were developed during Satvahana period and Vakataka period. The caves are located near horse-shoe shaped bend build by Buddhist monks during monsoon season. Nobody knows how did the artists paint so well, with such precise use of colour, in the dark recesses of these rock-carved prayer halls and monasteries.  I stayed in MTDC Ajanta T junction resort which…

Prague

🇨🇿 🇨🇿 🇨🇿 It was an extended weekend trip to Prague and Munich. This is considered one of the most beautiful cities of the world brimming with cultural sites. Our hotel was very close to the town square . This is a historic square. The elegant tower of the Town Hall with the world famous astronomical clock, the proud silhouette of the fairy-tale Týn Cathedral, the monumental Church of St. Nicholas and countless multicolored houses of many styles lend this place a unique atmosphere. Charles Bridge is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava…

Assam

🇮🇳 🇮🇳 🇮🇳 It was a short trip of few days to visit my in-laws place. I stayed in a resort at Tinsukia for a day. I also went to Dibru Saikhowa national park and saw river Dolphins and few species of birds. This area is also famous for feral horses. After returning to Jorhat, I visited Digboy , Asia's oldest oil refinery.  I also visited Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary. This Sanctuary contains India's only gibbons – the hoolock gibbons, and Northeastern India's only nocturnal primate – the Bengal slow loris. Dibru Saikhowa national park Hoollongapar Gibbon…

Florence – Second time

🇮🇹 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 This was my second time in Florence . Florence is the cultural capital of Italy . We stayed in hotel very near to Duomo. I climbed to the top of Duomo and view over the Florence skyline was amazing. Later I visited Uffizi gallery , the largest and most visited museum of the world housing largest Italian Renaissance. This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see. We visited the…
