Panama : Boquete and Volcan Baru

🇵🇦 🇵🇦 🇵🇦 I reached my hotel in Boquete in late afternoon. Boquete almost felt like a hill station wearher is lot cooler and less humid. My hotel Hostal Boquete located near a running stream and had a nice view when you sit with a cup off coffie . City center got decorated for Chrismass , I strolled around and  had my food at the city centre . Next morning I had booked Boquete Tree Trek adventure. Panama : Bocas Del Toro

🇵🇦 🇵🇦 🇵🇦 Bocas Del Toro borders the the Carribean sea to the north. It consistes on mainland and 9 main islands. I flew in the morning to Bocus Town Isla Colon from Panama city. Its a small island , though my hotel was walkable , there were minibuses which provides shared transfer. I availed one of those and reached my hotel Barrbra B&B over sea. My first day was bit of wash out. It was raining really heavily and I could not really do much except walking around , visiting Bocus…

Panama : Panama City , Canal and San Blas

🇵🇦 🇵🇦 🇵🇦 Panama is the link between Central America and South America, constituting an isthmus of 80 km. wide in its narrower section. I flew from Guatemala City and it's a complete change of surroundings. Unlike Guatemala city , this is a city of sku scrappers. Buildings of all sizes , shapes and forms everywhere. I arrived my hotel in the afternoon . It's pretty much my  easy day to walk around and explore parts by foot. Uber is easily available here , so took a Uber to visit the central…

Guatemala : Tikal and Flores

🇬🇹 🇬🇹 🇬🇹 Guatemala is not complete without visiting Tikal and Flores. After doing Semuc Champey, next morning I took a bus (minivan) from Lanquín to Flores. Flores is  the gateway to the Petén, Guatemala’s vast northern rainforest region, because it’s the main transport hub. I reached Flores late afternoon.  Isla de Flores is a cute, colourful area clustered onto a small island in Lake Petén Itza, and connected to the mainland via a short causeway.  It's a small walkable island . I reached late afternoon . Due to my luggage ,…

Guatemala : Semuc Champey and Kanba Caves

🇬🇹 🇬🇹 🇬🇹 After successfully summiting 5 volcanoes , my next stop was Semuc Champey. This is a natural 300 m limestone bridge, under which passes the Cahabón River. Atop the bridge is a series of stepped, turquoise pools. I woke up in the morning , had my breakfast and then bus arrived for pick up to Lanquín. This is a long bus ride of 8 hrs from Antigua via Guatemala City . There is a tourist bus stop at Lanquín. Transpiration from various hotels come there to pick up tourists. Next…

Guatemala : Antigua and Guatemala City

🇬🇹 🇬🇹 🇬🇹 Antigua My month long trip to Guatemala and Panama started with Antigua.  My midnight flight of United Air from Houston arrived sharp 12 and my transport to Antigua was waiting outside airport. Faced no issues in airport and then zipped to Antigua in no time. After a restful sleep , it was time to explore the the city.  Situated in an area prone to frequent volcanic eruptions and earthquake , the city has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. It was also the former capital of Guatemala. This city…
