Seven Sisters coastal – The Chalk Cliffs of Sussex

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 This hike treated us with many iconic views and fresh sea air high up on the cliffs. The Seven Sisters are a series of white chalk cliffs and are set within the Seven Sisters Country Park. They are remnants of dry valleys in the South Downs and were formed at the end of the last ice age by glacial meltwater. There are in fact now eight sisters as an extra one has been created by coastal erosion. Our hike started in the coastal town of Seaford which is home to a…

Hiking and Picnic on the Jurassic Coast.

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 One of Dorset’s most iconic landmarks, Durdle Door is the first natural World Heritage Site and a must-visit for those wanting to see the spectacular beauty the Jurassic Coast offers. We started our picnic on the beach in Durdle Door , after the picnic and relax time, we walked along the Jurassic Coast to make some shots and discover the wonderful landscape that the coast has to offer us. The hike was approximately 2/3 or 4 hours (depend on the time we spend at each place), there were small steep hills…

Dhaka

🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩 From Coxbazar we took a local flight to Dhaka. Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh is sprawling but very densely populated . The traffic jam is almost legendary , on the way to hotel it almost felt like getting out of the cab and walking would be lot quicker. I was staying at "Hotel Star City" near Kamalapur. We reached the hotel around evening , as with previous hotels, rooms were barely liveable. Dhaka Ramkrisna misson was nearby and we walked there to watch puja and Sandharati. Next morning we woke up…

Chitagong & Coxbazar

🇧🇩 🇧🇩 🇧🇩 It was a sunny and warm late December afternoon when I landed Chitagong international airport. The plan was to stay 4 days here before flying off to Dhaka. My hotel was near Chawk Bazar which was quite far from Airport. Chitagong itself is a very overcrowded and dusty (during dry season) city , but it is a great base to cover some of Chitagong hill tract districts, specially Rangamati and Bandarban. Unfortunately foreigners require special permit to visit tribal areas and I did not have time for this bureaucratic…

Žabljak and Durmitor National Park

... Continued from Kotor and Budhva Zabljak is a small town in northern Montenegro with a population of less than 2000. We left Kotor mid day . Bus journey itself was about 4.5 hours. Our hotel was just 5 min walk from the bus stop. The town is in the center of the Durmitor mountain region and the highest town in Balkan. We spent the rest of the day walking around and had a nice dinner in the evening. Next morning my first destination was Black lake inside Durmitor national park. This…

Kotor and Budhva

🇲🇪 🇲🇪 🇲🇪 ... continued from Bar Day 1 Our next stop was Kotor which is about 70 Km from Bar. It passes through Budhva, Petrovac , Sutomore and Tivat. Tivat is the only other international airport in Montenegro other than Podogracia. We arrived just at noon . Bar

🇲🇪 🇲🇪 🇲🇪 ... continued from "Train from Belgrade to Bar" Train journey was quite long and we reached bar at about 8 in the morning. Bar is pretty little touristic town with Mediterranean climate. This town was inhabited from ancient times. There are findings from Neolithic era. Old part of the town (Stari Bar) still has the remains of the fortress which is a great landmark of Byzantine empire. The city was largely destroyed in WW II an since rebuilt. It was again destroyed completely in an earthquake in 1979 and then again rebuilt.…
