This place is famous for Icefjord. It’s a massiveย collection of icebergs that have calved from the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier one by one. This isย fastest moving glacier in the world (40 meters daily). This place is at its best during summer months, specially due to global warmingย glacier calving is a common phenomenon. We were there during spring so most part of fjord was frozen.

This is an expensive place. We stayed in Hotel Icefjord. This is probably the best hotel I have stayed in my life. It’s not everyday you open your windows to see the floating Icebergs.

We took a boat trip through in Icefjord. This was one of the best experience in my life. I also tried to hike along the Icefjord next morning , but because of fresh snow trail condition was not good .

Due to global warming size of Icebergs has become smaller. The Iceberg that sank Titanic was originated from here. It would have been a mile long. In 1909 this ice shelf used to produce just one or two this huge Icebergs. This has traveled two years inย powerful west Greenland current and dragged down the north-eastern coast of Canada which is over thousand miles from this place.
