Isle of Wight

So finally its time for a relaxing family holiday. Getting to Isle of White is starightforward . There are mainly three Ferries from UK mainland, Southhampton – East Cowes, Portsmouth – Fishbourne and Lymington – Yarmouth. We took train to Southhampton and then the Ferry to East Cowes. From East Cowes we took bus to Sandown beach . The place we were staying is inside a holiday park and pretty close to beach .

We were staying there for 3 nights. I went for an afternoon stroll in and around the area and beach . I walked up to Culver Down and Yarborough monument and then towards Bembridge fort . Infact this was my almost daily morning and evening walk route during my stay. From top there is a very nice view of Bembridge coast , Ryde and some of the beach front resorts.

Next morning we visited The Needles and The Alum Bay. We took the spectacular chair lift rideย ,taking us on a journey past the coloured sands cliffs to the beach. Latter also we took a cruise which took us closer to The Needles.

We came back Sandowns in late afternoon. I went to the the nearby beach to catch last glimpes of setting sun.

Next morning we spent sometime in the nearby beach and latter went to Dinosaur Isle. This is first purpous built Dinosour museum in Europe. Isle of Wight itself is famous for its Dinosour heritage and one of the richest discovery site in Europe. Later during the day I visited St. Catherine`s light house, did some walk Rocken End beach . Later had a nice lunch and visited some other beaches like Devil`s Chimney, Shanklin beach and Shanklin Chine.

On the last day I went for walk to Culver Down before watched the sun rise. Later during the day I travelled all the way back to East Cowes to catch the ferry and then finally took the tran back to home from Southhampton. A nice little break !
