Sundarban – The largest estuarine mangrove forest

This is the largest mangrove forest in the world and not that far from Rajarhat , which was once a small village outside Calcutta. I born and brought up there and spent first 18 years of my life in Rajarhat , still I did not visit Sundarban. So it was always in my bucket list. December is always peak time to visit Sundarban, still I had no option. So I booked a 2 night / 3 day tour from local Calcutta tour company called "Chuti Chuti".

Sighisoara and Viscri

🇷🇴 🇷🇴 🇷🇴 This was our last day at Brasov. The day started sunny and bright. I went for a walk in the town. I crossed the town center walked to Bastionul Graft, this is a part of the wall that once used to surround the city. Then I walked up the stairs to the upper tower . The White Tower (Turnul Alb) is located directly above the Bastionul Graft. Turnul Negru or black tower can also be reached from the canal path. This two towers were used once to keep watch on Brasov. I booked a…

North Ireland – Giant Causeway

🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 We left Derry in the morning to Ballymoney . On the way we saw Dunluce castle. The iconic ruin of the castle sitting on a rocky outcrop , connected to mainland via a bridge. In the 17th century Dunluce was the seat of the earls of County Antrim and saw the establishment of a small town in 1608. Our next stop was Carrick-a- rede (rope bridge). Connected to the cliffs by a rope bridge across the Atlantic Ocean, Carrick-a-Rede Island (home to a single building - a fisherman's cottage) is the final destination.…

Swansea ,Mumbles and Gower

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 We started early on Sunday. This was our first trip with the little one so I planned to take it easy. We reached Swansea around 12.30. It was a long walk of 2 mile to our hotel, South View Guest house. Though three adults and one child were supposed to fit comfortably , the room was really small and one double bed and another single bed were somehow cramped in. I did not realize that bathroom was shared either. The day was cloudy and windy with light rain at times. Others…

Germany: Berlin

We arrived Berlin from Prague in the morning by train. It was an early train and we reached to our hotel by 10AM. I wanted to join the walking tour of Berlin , but my dear friends took so long that I did not have time for lunch. The tour was for 3 hours and covered quite a few places like The Reichstag, The Berliner dome, WWII Battlefields, Checkpoint Charlie, Remaining Berlin Wall, The Brandenburg Gate. The guy was awesome and was almost apologetic about Nazi past. He narrated loads of stories about Berlin's…

Austria: Innsbruck and Mayrhofen

🇦🇹 🇦🇹 🇦🇹 Innsbruck is a very popular destination of winter sports . It's capital of Tyrol , western state of Austria. Inn is the main river, the name Innsbruck  means bridge over Inn. My accommodation was very close to the river. My first destination was the cable car up to Hafelekar. We went to Nordkette which is a part of Austria's largest natural park. Then we went to the 300-meter high mountain station of the cable car Hungerburg (designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid) to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. After reaching the Hungerburg…
