Swansea ,Mumbles and Gower

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 We started early on Sunday. This was our first trip with the little one so I planned to take it easy. We reached Swansea around 12.30. It was a long walk of 2 mile to our hotel, South View Guest house. Though three adults and one child were supposed to fit comfortably , the room was really small and one double bed and another single bed were somehow cramped in. I did not realize that bathroom was shared either. The day was cloudy and windy with light rain at times. Others…

Portugal: Lisbon and Sintra

🇵🇹 🇵🇹 🇵🇹 I started from Lagos at 2 in afternoon on 27th March. I had to change train at Tunes and reached Lisbon in the evening. My hostel was near Santa Apolonia where I spent 3 nights. First day I roamed in Lisbon. I took classic yellow tram no 28. It connects Martim Moniz with Campo Ourique, and passes through the popular tourist districts of Graca, Alfama, Baixa and Estrela. The delightful Remodelado trams date from the 1930s and in any other city they would be housed in a museum, but…

Germany: Berlin

We arrived Berlin from Prague in the morning by train. It was an early train and we reached to our hotel by 10AM. I wanted to join the walking tour of Berlin , but my dear friends took so long that I did not have time for lunch. The tour was for 3 hours and covered quite a few places like The Reichstag, The Berliner dome, WWII Battlefields, Checkpoint Charlie, Remaining Berlin Wall, The Brandenburg Gate. The guy was awesome and was almost apologetic about Nazi past. He narrated loads of stories about Berlin's…

It was a very scenic location food was great specially fish from lake and local game meat.  Next morning I walked around the lake and walked towards St Gilgen along the lake. St Gilgen is a very pretty village on the north bank of Wolfgangsee. From St. Gilgen it was almost 2 hours train journey to Munich. We had our return flight in the evening. We took a hop - on hop -…

Austria: Innsbruck and Mayrhofen

🇦🇹 🇦🇹 🇦🇹 Innsbruck is a very popular destination of winter sports . It's capital of Tyrol , western state of Austria. Inn is the main river, the name Innsbruck  means bridge over Inn. My accommodation was very close to the river. My first destination was the cable car up to Hafelekar. We went to Nordkette which is a part of Austria's largest natural park. Then we went to the 300-meter high mountain station of the cable car Hungerburg (designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid) to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. After reaching the Hungerburg…

Austria: Salzburg

🇦🇹 🇦🇹 🇦🇹 Train from Innsbruc to Salzburg takes approximately 2 hours. Salzburg is renowned for its baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city centers north of the Alps. Salzach river is the tributary of Inn and main river in Salzburg. We visited Hellbrunn Palace & Trick Fountains. This was a pleasure palace for Salzburg prince - archbishops. Trick fountain is quite spectacular. Hellbrunn Mountain is a naturally abundant source of water, which inevitably became a central design feature of the palace grounds. The centerpiece is provided by Mannerist trick fountains that…

Egypt: Dahshur ,Memphis and Saqqara

🇪🇬 🇪🇬 🇪🇬 For most visitors Egypt is synonymous with majestic pyramid of Giza and Sphinx. We decided to take a less traveled route on day 2. We took a cab from outside of our hotel , it was an old fiat model , looked straight from junkyard.  The driver was also aged like his car but he was a nice chap. We first visited Saqqara , which was the ancient burial site for the ancient Egyptian capital Memphis. The main attraction here is the ancient Step pyramid of Djoser which was under renovation. This is…
