Sunday walk to Lavender Farm

We met at Clapham Junction and then took a train toย Chipstead village in Surrey via Croydon. ย We walked around 14 miles through lovely landscape of Surrey . The Lavender farm itself is in Banstead. It is a family run business named Mayfield Lavender. Weather was perfect and it was a very nice day out.

At Algeciras I had to wait for sometime to catch a local bus to La - Linea. From La - Linea bus stop it was 10 min walk to the border checkpoint and then another 15 mins walk to my hotel in Gibraltar. We reached Edinburgh in the morning . Our first destination wasย Calton Hill , one of Edinburgh's main hills, set right in the city centre. It is unmistakable with its Athenian acropolis poking above the skyline. There are two observatories . Dalby Forest and Whitby

This is located at Locton village which was the starting point of 5.6 Mile Bridestone walk.ย The walk started from Lockton and then dropped into Stain Dale on the edge of Dalby Forest before entering in Bride Stones Moor and then Dovedale. The route took a climb up to the High Bride Stones and then crossed the valley to visit the Low Bride Stones. The walk back to Lockton provided magnificent views in all directions. Peak District and Monsal Trail

The garden view from YHA is great with real log fire. Next day we left very early after breakfast.
