Day 1
I arrived Medelline pretty late in the evening . The hotel was modest but comfortable . Took a taxi and reached at the hotel and went to sleep. Next morning I had booked the trip to Guatape. Guatape is one of those post card perfect place which is hard to miss. We stopped at a small town enroute and had our breakfast then we were dropped at El Penol with some free time and option to climb the rock. It has 740 steps and $6 ticket per person . At the top the views are beautiful, and there are vendors selling drinks and some small bites as well. There are also many souvenir shops on top. It can feel a little touristy but the views were amazing.

Next we were talken to the colorful town of Gutape. The small town is famous for the zocalos or the painted panels on the houses that portray their trade or history. I spent a couple of hours just walking around, snapping away photos, and soaking in the vibe of the town.

From Gutape town we were taken to the main plaza for a boat trip

Then we went back to the same place for lunch where we had our breakfast and after that it was time to go back to Medelline. We stopped at an animal farm for photo stop where ppl van buy animal food and feed animals and then a long journey back to my hotel

Day 2
Today afternoon I had to catch a bus to Salento , so I decided to use the morning to do a walking tour . Though ideally it is nice to go for a guided tour to get some perspective of the area I decided to walk own my own . It was one of the world’s most dangerous neighborhoods in the 1980s-90s. It was a lawless territory for drug traffickers and armed groups, it saw intense conflict, notably the 2002 Operación Orión, before massive investments in infrastructure like electric escalators (2011) and urban art initiatives fostered peace and tourism.
